Food Pantry—Seniors are welcome to drop by our pantry to “shop” for non-perishable food items, toiletries and paper products. Donations are always welcome
USDA Food Program--Applications available at the COA office for US Dept. of Agriculture food. Income eligibility requirement. Free delivery for homebound Groveland elders. Food is available the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.

Fuel Assistance—Through Community Action (Haverhill), Joe Kennedy’s energy program and local charitable donors.
Hot Meals—Served daily (except weekends) at 11:45 at the Main Street fire station site. Reservations are needed 2 working days in advance (by 12 noon) by calling Site Mgr. Audrey Sullivan at (978) 373-7230. Meal charge is $2.00 for those 60 and over. $4.00 for diners under 60. Monthly menu is published in our newsletter.
Meals on Wheels are available to homebound elders. Please call the COA office at (978) 372-1101.
Medical Equipment to Loan is available at our office at town hall on a first-come, first-served basis. We frequently have canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
MVRTA Ring & Ride Transportation—Available within Groveland and to Georgetown, Haverhill, Lawrence Gen’l Hospital, Amesbury Dialysis Center and Newubyrport to Groveland’s disabled and senior (60+) population. Make a reservation by calling Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority at (978) 469-6878. Cost is $2.00 each way.

S.H.I.N.E (Serving the Health Information Needs of Elders)—Volunteers are available, by appointment, to discuss health insurance problems and concerns.
Shopping on the COA Van—Each Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. to Riversedge Plaza (CVS, Market Basket, Dunkin’ Donuts), as well as the Bank and Post Office.
Tax Preparation Assistance—Offered February-April 15th at the Council On Aging offices, AARP-trained volunteers help seniors with federal and state tax forms
Transportation--We offer NEET transportation (local volunteer drivers who will take you to and from your appointments at a donation of .445 cents per mile), our COA handicapped accessible van, as well as Ring & Ride service (curb-to-curb, handicapped accessible mini-vans dispatched by MVRTA (Merrimack Valley Regional Transit). NEET (Northern Essex Elder Transport) Rides—Available for medical and necessary transportation by calling the COA office at (978) 372-1101. 43¢ per mile donation suggested. Groveland Ring & Ride--Call MVRTA to reserve a vehicle at 978-469-6878 (then press option 3) between 8 am-4:30 pm Monday-Friday. $4.00 round trip transportation available to and from Anywhere in Groveland, Haverhill, Newburyport as well as
Lawrence General Hospital and the Amesbury Dialysis Center. Transportation is available M-F from 5 am-7 pm and Saturdays from 9 am-6 pm. No transportation is available on Sundays or holidays. This service will also allow you to connect to the MVRTA fixed route bus system, as well as drop off and pick up at the Bradford train station. MVRTA requires 24 hours notice. Real Estate Tax Work-Off Program—The Town of Groveland’s Assessors’ office funds $5,000 per year to assist 10 Groveland seniors reduce their real estate taxes. Exchange hours are worked for an abatement on ¼ of their real estate tax bill.
Telephone Reassurance—COA volunteers call elders in need of occasional friendly voices who inquire about their safety and well-being
