TOWN OF GROVELAND
RELATIVE TO THE COVID-19 / CORONAVIRUS
March 24, 2020
Please be advised, that as of today, Groveland has one (1) positive case of COVID-19. The person and their immediate family are self-quarantined and are taking all necessary precautions. The Public Health Nurse has been in contact with this resident and has reached out to anyone they may have been in contact with. We will continue to update you should there be additional cases or information to share.
Yesterday afternoon, the Board of Selectmen and Board of Health held a joint COVID-19 meeting and will continue to do so during this pandemic. The Board of Health will be monitoring and enforcing the Governor’s Order, closing certain workplaces, that will go into effect today, at noontime.
Please be aware, that with the outbreak of COVID-19, scammers have found a way to prey on people’s fears by using cybercrimes, sale of counterfeit goods, treatment scams, and other healthcare and investment scams arising from the pandemic. Massachusetts residents who believe they are victims of fraud or other criminal activity related to the pandemic should contact the United States Attorney’s Office at 1-888-221-6023.
As a result of the Governor’s order, beginning today, the Library is closed entirely. In addition, town hall employees will be adjusting schedules to work from home, when applicable. Employees will continue to monitor phone calls and emails. Should anyone have an urgent matter, or need to reach an employee for a time sensitive situation, please call me at 978-556-7204 or via email at email@example.com.
We ask all residents to continue to observe the social distancing requirements and this new stay-at-home order to the best of their abilities.
Thank you. Be safe!
